A Swiss second time around

In Basel last weekend, previously-loved objects kept popping up where I didn’t expect them. An entire wall in the centre of town is covered with china: plates, cups, bowls, vases, right where they don’t belong. The Museum Tinguely is a whole building full of this – sculptures and (literally) dynamic artwork (at various intervals, the artwork comes to life and moves) – all made of scrap. If only I’d known as a child how valuable such things were, I could’ve created a few monuments of my own using rusty bits and pieces lying around my grandfather’s old farm.
